Infrared devices to transfer information at short range are provided as a communication interface. This interface is used to transfer data to and from IR supported devices like remote controls and Cell phones.

Support for radars, tags and readers within the Streme framework integrates intelligent information gathering by various Streme players. Player content can be changed based on RFID tags. E.g. A customer is welcomed when an RFID tag embedded in the value card he/she is carrying is sensed.

Options to send and receive serial communications data are provided. This can be utilized for controlling external equipment and data acquisition. For most applications, this interface is used to control data projectors and LCD displays to power off, put in standby mode etc.

Suitable Sterme players can be selected to drive LCD Displays, LED walls, CRT TV networks, HDMI Panels, Data Projectors etc. Support for vertical and horizontal orientations is provided.

Proximity sensors trigger a signal to show if someone is in a range of say 6 feet from the display. This sensor is used to switch between a Streme digital signage and the kiosk content.

Magnetic card readers to read information like customer name, points stored etc. are used for interactive kiosks to deliver feature rich applications.

When a user sends SMS to a number provided by a service provider, the information is available on a SMS server URL. Streme provides for a middleware interface to pull this information from the SMS gateway. Customized parsing modules can extract relevant data and initiate specific information processing. A contest with answers and winners can be driven using this interface

Feeds from web cams etc can be streamed using the Streme video server platform. This can be used to monitor the customer behavior at the stores. Streme players come with LAN TCP/IP support built in. Additional connectivity support is available for VSAT, Wifi networks, WiMax, CDMA Modems, GSM Modems etc. This allows Streme players to communicate with the manager software and other data sources with any network architecture.
